DogStar was started by a couple of dog guys, who train retrievers several days a week. We hunt and run our dogs in AKC and HRC hunt tests.

 

We train a lot and we wanted better training equipment. When you spend a lot of time in a holding blind so you think about things you would do differently if you made the equipment yourself. 

 

DogStar Holding Blinds:

We wanted to have a pocket to put our stuff – coffee cup, lead, primers, radio, cinch cord, and whatnot. No one likes carrying a heavy blind with steel poles – being lightweight was a necessity. And of course, the fabric needed to be really nice – so we partnered with TrueTimber®. 

 

DogStar holding blinds are made using TrueTimber® camouflage, it’s 600D Cordura® waterproof fabric with a full blackout on the back. Poles are made from 6061 aluminum with steel spikes. The pole pockets are made from heavyweight polypropylene mesh webbing and riveted so they don’t fall out. Blinds are stitched together using heavyweight UV thread.
